Hello! My name is Rebekah Rains. You can call me Rebekah, Bekah, or Bek. Really anything but Becky! It just does not fit.
I have been involved in Full Time Ministry since 2005, after graduating from Ouachita Baptist University with a degree in Biblical Theology. During this time I have been blessed to work with both churches and para-church organizations, kids, youth and college. I came to FBC Tyler to be the Minister to Children and have found a great family, passionate teachers, co-workers and friends that spur me on in my faith.
As you get to know me you will find that songs easily get stuck in my head, I love Cheezits, green tea is the best, and reading is a passion. I love books from Alice in Wonderland to Henri Nouwen’s, In the Name of Jesus. If you want to talk about or suggest a book to me, please feel free!
When you visit FBC I hope you and your kids will experience two main things. First, hospitality, that your family feels welcomed and comfortable (especially your kids). And secondly, that you will know that we believe in Jesus! I hope the way we greet you, take care of your child, and join you in worship points you to a deeper relationship with God. There are lots of things can keep us busy, but I pray that the time we have together will focus each family (and individual) on the goodness of Jesus!
I hope to meet you and your kids this coming Sunday. You can find me usually by the front doors in the education building. I’m the short girl with red hair! Feel free to let me know if you have questions or if I can be looking for you too: firstname.lastname@example.org.
