Hello!

My name is Paul McKenzie. I have the pleasure of serving as the Minister to Students here at the South Campus of First Baptist Church Tyler.

I am passionate about knowing our true identity, understanding how God has made us, and living out true character in response to God’s love. As a servant of God I seek to honor everyone, love the brotherhood, fear God and honor the king.

I have been in full time ministry since I graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a degree in Biblical Studies and I am currently attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Anytime I come home smelling like sawdust, two-stroke engine oil, sweat or mud, I count it as a good day. Of many hobbies, I enjoy slacklining, Ultimate Frisbee, woodworking, and most things involving two wheels. I am also a licensed falconer and have found a keen hunting partner in my Harris Hawk.

The only thing better is when I get to share those activities and adventures with the love of my life, my wife Jill. Since our marriage in 2006, it has truly been a blessing to be supported by and co-minister with my best friend. One of our biggest ministries is loving and raising our daughter, Madilyn, who continues to bring a smile to our faces.

My dream vacation would be a motorcycle trip starting in the northern tip of Scotland and riding to the south of England on an old Norton Commando. The only reason I haven’t attempted the trek yet is because I can’t seem to find a nice set of goggles and the perfect scarf.

If you ever come by the church I’d love to meet you, I’m the redheaded one!
