Media Ministry

Since the mid 1960s First Baptist has televised an hour of Sunday morning worship on a network affiliate TV station. Another hour of praise and worship is cablecast each Sunday Evening over the local Tyler cable TV system. The TV ministry uses First Baptist members to volunteer their time and talents as crew members to help operate First Baptist's own production equipment. The Media Ministry can train any interested First Baptist member to become a member of the TV production team. Media Ministry productions have been blessed with 18 awards since 1995.

Each week viewers of the TV worship hour phone in for prayer, spiritual answers, and even to accept Christ. Calls are regularly taken from viewers in cities and towns in a 150 mile-wide circle of East Texas and sometimes beyond.

Since the early 1940s the Radio Bible Class has invited listeners to be part of a Sunday School class over the air. The class is radiocast over the most powerful station in East Texas each Sunday.
