If there is a mode of mass transportation that we didn’t take today, we took it yesterday. We rode the subway, the train, the ferry…I’m still trying to figure out how we can work a helicopter and airship into the trip. I guess I’ll save that for another trip and when you give your permission to do so…

Our ministry took us to Staten Island via the famous ferry this morning. Some of you will remember Terry, Dona and Brianna Elston who were members of our church for a while. They met us at the Ferry Terminal and spent the rest of the day with us. On Staten Island, we sang at the Seaview Rehab Center and were graced with the presence of 100 year old Lillian Nalbone, Torey’s grandmother. Some of Torey’s extended family was there as well. In fact, while HHH was doing a sign language number, I motioned for a lady and her two girls to come in. When they walked by, the lady kissed me on the cheek. It was only later that I realized it was one of Torey’s cousins who had mistaken me for him!

The concert went very well for the first one. As usual, the kids did a very good job. We kind of expect that though, don’t we? Following the concert, we dined on local NY style pizza and made our way back to the ferry via the train; and Manhattan via the ferry. At that point, we did a walking tour which included Battery Park, the Merrill Lynch bull and the World Trade Center site. Liane Beacham joined us for a while, as she is here doing some tour work. It was really good to see her. We made our way to Katz Delicatessen where we enjoyed a fabulous NY style meal. In my opinion, it certainly lived up to the hype!!!

After a subway ride, we are back in the hotel having family groups and getting ready to settle in for the night. It was a good day, and we have had several opportunities to tell others what we are about. It’s going very well!!!

Blessings,
