Day 4
Day 4 is usually a challenging day. The new has worn off of the trip and the kids are tired physically and vocally. BUT, they certainly were up to the task today in spite of the fatigue. The concert this morning was good, but it took us ALL a while to warm up and get moving. See the pictures.
I had lunch today with my good friend, Benji Harlan. Occasionally we do one of his choral pieces and chances are, if we sing an arrangement of a hymn in worship, he's the one that arranged it. It was good to catch up with him and our folks enjoyed meeting him.
Kinsey and Robbie Wallace had a surprise this afternoon when their grandad and friends showed up for the 3:00 concert. He was in town for a funeral and managed to catch up with the girls. There were excited to see him and we were excited for them!
After our afternoon concert, we took our personal care items that so many of you graciously gave to the Global Maritime Ministry center on Tchoupitoulas Street. (chop-uh-too-las). We toured the facility while we were there and identified another need. They need a conctruction team to finish some building. Maybe we can help them out...
Our evening concert did not make. We were asked to switch to tonight a few weeks back and we obliged, but things got mixed up somehow. We were all a little disappointed, but all have kept an upbeat, positive attitude. So, we went to supper, travelled back the the PRBA, and everyone is in bed a half hour earlier tonight. A good investment in the rest of the week!
Thanks for the support. We love you all and look forward to Sunday night. Don't you dare miss it!
Blessings,
BB
