Day 7

Okay, I don't know if I have told  you, but it is hot here in the deep south!  But, the Lord was good to us today as played in His creation.  After a lazy morning, we went to Gulfport/Biloxi for some beach time.  We got some sun, but cloud cover came and a cool breeze blew in from the gulf and it was just great.  The beaches are nice here, but the water is not the best.  No signs of oil, though!  We were thankful for that.  It is really evident here, however, that the BP oil spill is going to have a traumatic effect.  After all, they are still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.

Since there were no facilities at the beach anywhere, we had to improvise.  We set up a tent and the kids changed clothes in shifts.  We also did some foot washing and all of us got back on the bus with hardly any sand at all!!!  By the way, we had a camera malfunction at the beach, but there will be some pictures later.

The Shed BBQ was awesome.  The food was really good and the people were very nice.  Owner Brad Orrison even asked us to sing which we did.  The piano was ancient and sort of in tune, but Andrea made it sound as good as possible.  One of the men at the restaurant was so impressed with our kids that he bought us some watermelon!  It was really good too!  Anyway, if you like good BBQ, you need to "get fed at the shed" the next time you are in the vicinity of I-10 and Hwy. 57 near Ocean Springs, MS.

Once we got back to the PRBA, we did a little cleaning in preparation to leave tomorrow.  But, the highlight of the evening was our share time.  It is always a joy for me to see how the Lord has worked in the lives of all involved and their unique perpectives of the week.  If you want to know more, ask your student.  In fact, dig as much out of them as you can and maybe you will see why I love what I do so very much.  I love our kids.  They are ALL so wonderful!

We'll be home tomorrow evening.  I'll have them give you a call when we get to Longview.  AND, please invite someone to the home concert on Sunday evening.  We will be DOWNTOWN at 6:00 pm.  See you then and thanks for your support of what we do!

Blessings,

BB
