Senior Pastor
I have the privilege of serving as Senior Pastor here at First Baptist Church Tyler. My role is to lead, preach, shepherd, and model the life of a disciple of Jesus Christ. Like anyone, I sometimes fall short of what I hope to be, but I am grateful for a gracious Lord and a redemptive church family. Together, we press on as the body of Christ for the glory of God.
I came to faith in Jesus when I was ten years old through the faithful witness of my parents, my older siblings, and the loving environment of our church home.
I was called to serve as Pastor in March of 2011. At the time, my wife Andria and I were living in Dallas with our two young sons, Nash and Drew. We had no plans to move, but God clearly led us here, and we have been overwhelmed by His goodness and the love of the people at First Baptist Church.
Andria and I have been married for 26 years, and both of our sons have given their lives to Christ and are serving Him on their campuses. As a family, we enjoy sports, music, and our church community. I also like mowing and edging the lawn, working out, and watching a good British mystery.
My hope is that First Baptist Church continues to make an impact for the gospel and that every believer here is equipped through God’s Word, by His Spirit, and within community to live out their unique calling.
