Katie Goodrum
Director of Preschool Ministry
I serve as the Director of Preschool Ministries here at First Baptist Church Tyler. I’m part of the Education Team and oversee all volunteers and programming for babies through kindergarten. I also help plan fun and meaningful events for families, like the Brick Street Block Party and Vacation Bible School.
I came to know the Lord as a child at a music camp at The Heights Church in Richardson, but it was during a high school mission trip to England that my faith really became personal and began to deepen.
My husband and I were both staffers at Pine Cove, which is how we were first introduced to Tyler. After accepting this position at First Baptist Church, I moved here a few months before we got married, and now my husband works full-time for Pine Cove. We were married in December of 2023 and have loved building our life together in Tyler. We enjoy visiting antique stores, and I’m currently learning to play the guitar.
My hope is to see First Baptist Church continue to be a place where parents are equipped to be the primary disciple-makers in their homes while the church provides encouragement and support along the way.
