Kelsey Goodspeed
Minister to Children
I serve as the Minister to Children here at First Baptist Church Tyler. I have the joy of serving families with children from birth through fifth grade by equipping parents to be disciple makers, creating opportunities for scripture based learning, and building strong relationships with volunteers, parents, and kids. My deepest desire is that every child who walks through our doors would be known, loved, and gently led toward Christ.
I was born and raised in Tyler, and as a pastor’s kid, I have never known life outside the church. I made a personal decision to follow Jesus in first grade after talking and praying with my dad about how God sees and loves every person.
My husband, Ryan, and I grew up here, but lived in Houston for seven years before sensing God leading us back home. It is a gift to raise our children close to family and to serve in the church that poured so much into me when I was young.
We have three preschoolers, Rhett, Evie, and Shepherd, along with our blue heeler, Blue, who keeps things lively.
I love spending time with my family, visiting local parks and coffee shops, and enjoying my husband’s smoked steak, which is my favorite meal.
My hope is that First Baptist Church continues to feel like one big family as we love and serve young families in our community and our neighbors in North Tyler.
