Recreation Center Staff
I work at the front desk of the First Baptist Church Recreation Center. I get to meet and greet people as they come in, help with memberships, and keep the space clean and welcoming. I love being around people, talking, listening to their stories, and helping however I can.
I was blessed to grow up in a Christian family, and I gave my life to Christ at the age of thirteen during a Sunday school revival right here at First Baptist Church Tyler. My parents first brought me to First Baptist Church because we loved the preaching of Dr. Shamberger, the music led by Joe Carroll, and the friendships we found here.
I was born and raised in Tyler and I met my wife Debbie here. We’ve been married since 1979. She’s truly the love of my life. We have a daughter and a son, Amanda and Lee. we’re proud grandparents to five wonderful grandkids. I spent 36 years working for UPS before retiring, and now I enjoy hunting, fishing, and even a little pickleball when I can.
I love sea food, pizza, spaghetti, steak and a good mocha cappuccino.
My prayer is that God continues to move through First Baptist Church, especially in our missions and youth; and that we’ll see a revival in the near future.
