Church Hostess
I serve as the Church Hostess here at First Baptist Church Tyler. I help plan and serve our Wednesday night meals and assist with funerals and weddings. My heart for serving others began early in life.
I gave my life to Jesus when I was just five years old. I still remember what I was wearing and holding my dad’s hand as we walked down the aisle together. When I was thirteen, I realized I had never truly made a personal profession of faith, so one afternoon after school, surrounded by friends, I confessed my sins and asked Jesus to save me.
My husband, Paul, and I actually grew up in church together and I first noticed him when I was five and he was seven! We married young, and this past June we celebrated 48 wonderful years together. We have two children and eleven amazing grandchildren who bring us so much joy.
After retiring, we felt God leading us to settle in Tyler, and after visiting several churches, He made it clear that First Baptist Church was home. I love being part of this church family and am praying that God continues to move in our staff and congregation as we pursue His Kingdom work both here in Tyler and around the world.
