Kitchen Coordinator
Hi, I’m Karin Nolen, and I serve as the Kitchen and Wedding Coordinator here at First Baptist Church Tyler. I plan, prepare, and cook our Wednesday night meals, and I truly love spending time with the volunteers in the kitchen. I also have the joy of helping brides, grooms, and their families make wedding days as meaningful and special as they dream they can be. Creating welcoming spaces and memorable moments for our church family is something I care deeply about.
I was born in Dallas and came to Tyler in 1981 through my husband’s job, and this city has been home ever since. I was baptized around the age of eight and later, my husband and I joined the Baptist church before we were married. I was baptized again in the Baptist faith here at First Baptist Church in 1986. After spending several years at our South Campus, it has been such a joy to be back, as this church truly feels like home to me.
I have one son, two stepdaughters, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren who keep life full and joyful. I love volunteering with Royal Family Kids Camp each summer and spending as much time with my grandchildren as possible.
My hope is to see Wednesday night suppers continue to grow and to see our church reach far beyond the city limits for the glory of God.
